Accumulating stuff to make these ribbon mics is going very well, largely thanks to my now-retired dad, who loves spending time finding weird little components in US hardware stores. At least, I hope he does. If he doesn't, then he's spending a lot of time dicking around on my behalf, and resenting me more as he does so.

Also, my great quest to know stuff about letterpress printing has begun in earnest; at least I now know a tiny bit about composing, and tying up formes. That last looks very cool, as evidenced below:

Making stuff. That's what I'm up to. I hereby pledge that, by the end of the year, I will have made a nice pair of ribbon mics (and some sort of apparatus to use them in a Blumlein configuration) and, all being well, a valve stereo compressor. Oh yes. I anticipate plenty of burnt fingers, confusion and saying "fuck". I'll keep you updated on it all.

It looks like I was being a bit optimistic here- looks like I'm not actually doing anything else for the time being. Well, I am, but I'm not going to tell you about it. Maybe I will, some other time.
